Buns & Cakes: Funfetti // Chocolate bourbon

The seven deadly sins; Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. Have you ever had a forkful of something that was so decadent and sweet that you felt it was sinfully good? A dessert that you could lust for? So delicious that you greedily keep it all to yourself? Maybe envious of someone else enjoying? Or gluttonous after devouring the entire thing (we have all been there). If you have experienced any of these feelings, welcome to the club. For us, we felt especially indulgent at Sin Bakery, a very leading name for the cakes, cookies and pastries in their case.

Sin recently moved into the airy Westminster location over this summer, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and neutral colors (an interior that literally begs you to instagram your treats). Our models for the day, Bella (@cupcakesforsal3) and Gianna (@_babyg) are cake connoisseurs, so of course that’s what we dug into.

Let’s start with the minis. We really wanted a mix in variety of cupcakes, you know, a taste of everything! One of my favorite ice cream flavors is mint chocolate chip, so when we saw a chocolate cupcake with a delicate, minty green frosting, we knew we had to have it. Finding out your favorite ice cream flavor also makes a bomb ass cupcake must have been like the discovery of pineapples making a great fruit salad, but also being an incredible pizza topping (we know there's much debate on pineapple and pizza and we are pro pineapple FYI). The funfetti cupcake was a colorful, sweet party animal. Have you ever seen anyone looking sad while eating funfetti? NO. Because fun and confetti are the main ingredients which make it a pretty airtight good time. We also had to go with a classic; chocolate on chocolate. This QT pie came adorned with little devil horns! (we could squeal it is evil cuteness). This cupcake is literally the devil on your shoulder in this bakery. The angel is too preoccupied eating cupcakes so don’t even bother trying to resist. Give in to this wonderfully whipped chocolate frosting and decadently rich and buttery cake. A sin you will not regret. Finally, we had the neapolitan (we literally pronounce this wrong every.single.time) cupcake, so apparently we were really in the mood for cupcakes dressed up as ice creams! This cupcake was stuffed with a summery strawberry filling, topped with melty chocolate and vanilla icing, and finished with a “scoop” of strawberry frosting. This flavor tri-fecta was literally, all of my childhood dreams come true.

Although cupcakes are adorable and honestly, hard to limit to one, we wanted to experience the full monty with the cakes displayed in the case. The nine inch cakes are the perfect size for mom’s birthday party with the family, an intimate anniversary dinner, or maybe just a personal cake when you have had a rough day (we aren’t judging). Here we’ve got the funfetti cake (funfetti cupcakes hott mom), which is always a crowd pleaser with it’s magical rainbow sprinkles that makes any adult feel like a kid again. Speaking of adults feeling like a kid, how about adding some booze to your dessert (because you’re a grown up and you can make your own big boy/girl choices, dammit!) with the chocolate bourbon cake. Yes. Chocolate + bourbon = rich, smooth, glorious.

Also in the boozy category here, (we weren’t lying when we said this place was sinful) we have the strawberry champagne buttercream cake. Is it the bubbly that makes this frosting so airy and delightful? Most likely, so cheers! Finally, we finish off with the spice bundt cake. Although none of us want to accept that our summer days are dwindling down, this cake is here to hold your hand, and gently ease you into fall with it’s scrumptious seasonal flavors. It is the link between summer’s blueberry pie, and fall’s pumpkin spice.

The cakes/cupcakes we had at Sin were literally just the tip of the iceberg of  goodies they have to offer. Not only are their cases stocked with frosted confections, cookies, pastries, and everything in between, they also specialize in intricately made custom cakes. (check out their instagram, and look at the groom's cake they did of a man in a tux standing in a bowl of spaghetti. You may need to see it to believe it) Oh! And don't forget about the coffee. In addition to all of your wildest caffeine fantasies, they also offer a full bar and are always mixing up crafty cocktails. And if you are in a very fancy mood, try one of their eclectic plated desserts from their seasonal menu and be prepared to need to take 25 pictures before your fork touches the plate (because they look SO pretty). So if you’re feeling devilish, you know just the spot to let those little horns poke through. Sin bakery can be your partner in crime, and provide you with the sweet creations you need to satisfy those cravings

I think it's nice that people are beginning to look at plus size women as very sexy nowadays. I am tired of looking at women who look anorexic. I wonder what they did bad in their past life to be objectified like that. They are the reasons why school girls don't want to eat right. Plus size women however are always happy being themselves and they love to eat. There is nothing wrong with both choices I think. We should be careful not to judge one.
