If you have never been to The Sandwich Hut, you might imagine it to be a little house that delves out deli meat overstuffed into soft and tasty buns. MMM it's almost out of a fairy tale book, no?
The homey little brick building that is Sandwich Hut has been a local favorite since 1963. That is a long history of sandwich making, so it comes as no surprise that these guys don’t mess around. You try making sandwiches for 54 years and I guarantee that you will be as professional at the art of sandwich making as the art of sandwich making can come.
Dishing out all the classics, Sandwich Hut serves overflowing subs on fresh soft rolls, wraps and breads to your liking. The hott (yes ‘hott’ not ‘hot” because it’s sexy AND warm) meatball sub will have you not caring that you have red sauce (gravy to some of y’all) all over your face. Who needs napkins? You better lick your fingers, cause it’s too good to waste.
We went with two of our favorites, the Willow Tree Chicken Salad sandwich (let's be real Willow Tree is the founding father of chicken salad), and the prosciutto mozzarella with pesto and balsamic. As Action Bronson would say, “Fuck that’s delicious”.
Now, we all know that the ‘fixins are what turns a sandwich into a full meal. Take your pick from chips (cool), pasta salad (warm), potato salad (warmer), or one of their house made cheese or sausage stuffed peppers (hot! Hot! hot!). And when I say hot, literally, these babies are spicy!
But they don’t stop there, because if you’re anything like me, you better have something sweet to finish your meal with. Their house made desserts make you question if the sandwich hut actually doubles as an underground bakery because how could someone be a master of subs and also create the perfect cookie!?
Some little extras for all of you who are sometimes like me, and craving a sandwich from the warmth and loving embrace of your temperpedic, Sandwich Hut delivers!!! That’s right. All you have to do is make it to the front door.
And for those of you who also share my disdain for cooking (especially after working all day) Sandwich Hut is open until 9pm. Who says sandwiches have to be restricted to a lunchtime food? They are breaking societal norms here people!
So get ya buns off the couch (or keep them there and call for delivery) and get you some fresh sandys!
