Picture this if you dare- iced coffee flowing on tap, over fifteen flavors, kegerator cold- always. A full bar for when the amount of work I’ve completed requires a switch from coffee to celebratory cocktail. There are beers on draft and top shelf tequila flight options. It is a place I can swing thru for a quick coffee or have full-blown after work dinner and drinks. Walking into Brewed Awakenings on Bald Hill Rd. in Warwick, I realize that the café of my dreams is a reality.

Approaching the door, I feel like I am entering an upscale restaurant. There are well manicured outdoor patio areas, a huge dining room with bar seats, and a private conference room (for when you’re being a boss bitch).  It has an amazing ambience that says I’m upscale, but not unapproachable. The décor is neutral and understated and there are plenty of tables. The only thing stronger than the coffee beans, is the Wi-Fi connection.
The coffee selection is to die for and the flavors are balanced and consistent. This is attributed to the fact that the flavors are roasted right into the beans and not from a sugary-syrup. The flavors are fun and ever-changing. Some of my personal favorites include snickerdoodle and banana hazelnut.

Did I mention they have a fully stocked bar!? I’m talking adult frozen drinks, hot coffee drinks, draft beer, wine, and a full cocktail menu! And who makes a better espresso martini than a café? Apparently, no one. Barista and bartender collide and this martini is delicious; the perfect, creamy blend of caffeine and alcohol. I’ll take another please!

It has everything: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Feeling all #fitlife? Try the “The Skinny” breakfast sandwich or a fresh salad. Ready to put in work? Try a wood grilled pizza with buffalo wings on the side. I decide to try “The Awakening” breakfast sandwich. Can you blame me? A fresh-cracked egg with ham, sausage, bacon, tomato AND melted cheese piled high on an everything bagel is all I’ll ever need. Paired with my cinnamon hazelnut coffee, it’s a match made in heaven.

They offer amazing charcuterie boards; creatively plated cheeses, meats and spreads; to pair with their impressive wine selection. My board is presented, almost too pretty to touch; loaded with prosciutto, variety of cheeses, and a fresh fig spread with crunchy crostini. The inner Fat Bastard in me, screaming in a Scottish accent, “get in my belly!” as I devour it.

Then I have to go classic on ‘em and try the turkey club. Because, let’s be real, you can really judge a place on the classics. This triple-decker sandwich was locked and loaded.  Layers of turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and the right amount of mayonnaise, putting some delis to shame.

I start approaching the land of the food coma when I spot the desserts. They make it impossible to decide with one delicious choice after another. However, I opt for the lemon raspberry cake. YUM! It was moist (I know, I know, we hate that word), fluffy, and light. The lovely marriage of tart and sweet and a superb finale to my Brewed binge.

I wasn’t aware the café of my dreams was right here in Warwick. Finally, a place to post up and do work any time of day while eating amazing food. It is a place you can bring grandma for a cup of coffee, meet your college study group or let loose with coworkers after a long day. Let us not forget a boozy Sunday brunch with $5 mimosas and bloody marys! With five locations here in Lil Rhody, they are doing it right. I am so impressed with their attention to detail and emphasis on variety!  Let’s just say if Brewed Awakenings had a Tinder, I would swipe right every time.

I love eating and dining out with my family and friends during weekends and holidays. After a very toxic and stressful week of work, I think we should always have some time for relaxation, enjoyment and refreshments. In line with what I just said, I will definitely try this place one of these days. And I just want to share as well that my family prefer healthy and delicious foods and I think these foods are what we really need. Thanks for sharing, by the way. This is indeed a great reminder.
